Ferdinand is the young bull in the farm, he wish to be able to fight like his friends. But he isn't strong.
One day the Matador's truck come to pick up new bull, each of his friend think that their parent will be chosen.
Their father are going to fight each other to show the Matador, after finish Ferdinand's father is selected. He promises him that he will come back after win.
But he never come back, that night Ferdinand get chance and run off the farm. He jumps on the train and leave them.
He lost and end up at Nina's farm, she takes care and growth him up. Her farm has a lot of flower that he like, he is so happy with her.
One day he is not allow to goes to flower's festival anymore because he is a big bull, he is upset. He decides to go without permission.
His appearance at town scare a lot of people, there is accident and make him run off and crash the town. He try to run off the police but he end up captured and send to the cage.
After that he is sent back to his old farm that he escape, he meets his old friend. One of them Lupe tells him that he can be best bull and she will coach him.
One day El Primero, the matador shows up to select the bull and he wants to fight as last one.
Ferdinand doesn't want to fight and try to avoid them, they end up upset El Primero. He tells the owner that if he failed next time, he will not be selected by anyone anymore.
Ferdinand learn that if he fell to be fighter he will become meat instead, next day all of them try to impress El Primero but Ferdinand end up helping them.
Ferdinand plans to escape at night with help of his friends, but on the way he found out that bull never win. He try to warn his friends that they will never win but they don't believe him. One of them try to fight him and end up break his horn and sent to become meat.
Ferdinand decides to help everyone out include one that sent to be meat, they success get everyone out but they are chased by owner.
They escape to the city, but they still come after them. They try to catch the train to Madrid, he success get his friend out but he is captured and sent to the arena.
Nina sees him in news and head to help him out, Ferdinand is prepared and sending to the arena.
Ferdinand is sent down, but he doesn't want to fight. But they try to force him. Ferdinand try to avoid him but embarrassing him, he try to kill him but Ferdinand  decides not to fight. Audience sides with Ferdinand and asks to let him live.
Nina shows up and take him back home with all his friends who coming try to help him.
